As a painter of things, places and people, changes in my working environment has had a tremendous impact.

The "Studio Paintings" below started in my NE Pennsylvania studio during the dramatic winter thaw of 1996.    The importance of changing seasons on the landscape and the process of taking in 50 years of tossed debris into the studio , transformed objects buried for decades, inspired these paintings.   They were a wonderful vehicle because they somehow touched on all the form, space, color and imagery issues that interest me about art making.
